REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived in Sultan Badarudin II Airport in Palembang, Sunday (6/9). He conducted a working visit to review Trans Sumatera toll roads construction and to ensure the handling of forest fires in several hotspots in Palembang.
According to the schedule, President Jokowi will visit the location of fires in Pinang Raya Village, Pademaran, and Sungai Batas Village, Pangkalan Laban, in Ogan Komering Ilir, South Sumatera.
On the occasion, Jokowi will be accompanied by TNI Chief, Gatot Nurmantyo, Police Chief Badrodin Haiti, Chief of Presidential Staff Teten Masduki, Head of BNPB Syamsul Maarif, and General Secretary of Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Bambang Hendroyono.
Based on data from BNPB, several hotspots occurred in South Sumatera, Riau, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. South Sumatera has highest number of hotspots as much as 224 points.
