Government to encourage Indonesian products markets expansion in Middle East

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ABU DHABI -- The government continued to make efforts to encourage the expansion of markets for Indonesian products, one of them was sales through supermarket outlets in Middle East countries.

"I want to see Indonesian products from factories. There are onion, papaya, mango and everything. They have 160 branches in Middle East and Asia," said President Joko Widodo after visiting Lulu supermarket in Abu Dhabi, Sunday (13/9).

President said he had asked the owner of the supermarket to multiply Indonesian products and spread it in different countries. According to him, Indonesia still needs efforts to market the products, one of the efforts is increasing the quality of the products.

"I requested to multiply Indonesian products. When I asked how is the price, they said prices of Indonesian products are competitive," he added.

President explained, Supermarkets network like Lulu, were encouraged the network expansion for Indonesia, so that Indonesian products gain wider market.
