REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUPANG -- President Joko Widodo canceled to attend the opening session of the 33re Synod of Christian Evangelical Church in Timor (GMIT) which was held in Ba'a, the capital city of Rote Ndao, 20th September to 2nd October.
"Instead, the President sent Coordinating Minister of Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Luhut Panjaitan and the Chief of TNI Gatot Nurmantyo to attend the opening session of the Synod of Christian Evangelical Church in Timor (GMIT)," said Regent of Ndao Rote, Leonard Haning, in Kupang, Sunday (20/9).
He said the President would come to Rote on 27th September 2015 or one week after the Synod was held. Chairman of GMIT, Robert Litelnoni, thanked to the organizing committee who has prepared the Synod well.
"We sincerely convey our grateful to the local government of Rote Ndao that provide full support and sincere prayer to the father Ibrahim Medah as a chairman of the committee," he said.
Chairman of the Committee of the Synod, Ibrahim Medah, said the whole series of events and the opening were already prepared. This event has been prepared well, because it would be attended by the President.
