REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Executive Director of Center for Taxation Analysis (CITA), Yustinus Prastowo, said government of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Jusuf Kalla (JK) still have weaknesses in reform of tax rules.
In the first year of Jokowi-JK government, they promised to use an open selection in election of Director General of Taxes and Directorate General of Customs.
"Although there were still some weaknesses, the process was quite good as the foundation of institutional governance. We hope the leadership of institution will be more responsible, acceptable and competent," he said, in a press release, on Tuesday (20/10).
Currently the taxpayers have not had a good understanding of the tax reform promised by Jokowi-JK. So that the target increase in tax revenue was still based on tax policy without a clear direction.
