REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- West Java Provincial Government gave achievement awards to local athletes who were competed in Asian Beach Games 2014, SEA Games 2014, National Paralympic Week, and National Student Sports Week 2015.

The awards given to 600 athletes, was conducted in Bandung, West Java, Thursday (5/11). According to Head of Sports and Youth Department of West Java Provincial Government, Yudha Munajat Saputra, each athlete was given an award according to their achievements.

Awards that was given, were in form of money and scholarships. Although he did not mention in detail the nominal received by each athlete, he said the total money prepared by the West Java Provincial Government on this award reached Rp 5.6 billion.

In addition, the Provincial Government was also awarded to districts/cities in West Java, that were quite successful in coaching athletes.

"Bandung has most athletes, it means that the city is good in coaching. We give award to it," Yudha added.

Besides, Bandung, similar awards were also given to Cimahi, West Bandung, Garut, and Bogor. This award was one of the efforts to motivate other areas to develop quality of their athletes.
