Garuda Indonesia cancels 86 flights

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Garuda Indonesia management canceled 86 flights to and from Ngurah Rai International Airport Denpasar and Blimbingsari Airport Banyuwangi on Wednesday (4/11). The cancellation was due to the eruption of Mount Barujari, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Vice President Corporate Communications Garuda Indonesia, Benny Butarbutar, in a written statement, said Garuda Indonesia would also suspended flights until Thursday (5/11).

"Based on notification of the airport authority, Garuda Indonesia temporarily stop the flight, because the eruption of Mount Barujari with distribution of its volcanic ashes could endanger flight safety," he said, Wednesday (4/11)

Benny stated, based Notice to Airman (NOTAM No: A2472/15) issued by the local aviation authority, Ngurah Rai International Airport Denpasar and Blimbingsari Airport Banyuwangi were closed for a while.
