REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Willem Rampang Ngilei, said there were about 279 districts that were prone to landslides and flooding. The areas would be priorities in anticipation of disaster.
"To assist the process of anticipation of the disaster, BNPB prepares Rp 150 billion to be distributed to the regions," said Wilem, in Jakarta, Friday (13/11).
Morever, Willem continued, the Rp 150 billion fund was from Ministry of Finance. BNPB was ready to disburse the funds to the local government for disaster response program.
"The funds are ready to use," Willem added.
That was also said by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Puan Maharani. She said, the areas had been mapped by BNPB and the local government. Based on Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysic Agency (BMKG), the rainy season and the hurricane would occur in December 2015 to March 2016.
Puan stated the disaster anticipation could be done through disseminating of causes of disaster, repairing of water lines both in upstream and downstream, and creating dike at critical points and sources of flooding.
