REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Secretary of Muhammadiyah, Abdul Mu'ti, asked people not to take hasty conclusion about the motives behind acts of violence in Paris.
"The attack should not be linked with Islam and Muslims," said Mu'ti, to Republika, Monday (16/11).
Mu'ti said, Islam is a religion of peace and teach people to always do and create peace.
"ISIS is not an organization, movement and representation of Islam. ISIS is the organization and political movement that is loaded with power ambitions," Mu'ti explained.
In addition, Muhammadiyah also appealed to the people of Indonesia to address Paris attack wisely and not to fall for provocation that can be divisive for national unity.
