President Jokowi awards medal to Chairman of Japanese Parliamentary League

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) awarded 'Bintang Jasa Utama' medal to Chairman of Japanese Parliamentary League, Toshihiro Nikai. The award was because Nikai has outstanding rule in improving relationship of Indonesia and Japan.

The award of 'Bintang Jasa Utama' was given directly by the President to Toshihiro Nikai at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (23/11) afternoon.

Toshihiro Nakai which is also the leader of Liberal Democratic Party of Japan, led an exchange delegation of a thousand Japanese from various circles to visit Indonesia. It aimed to enhance exchanges between communities of both countries.

This effort was conducted by Nakai after on 12th June 2015, the Indonesian government gave visa-free visits for citizens of Japan who are going to Indonesia for tourism purposes.

"I really appreciate and respect the Japanese Parliament League Chairman Toshihiro Nikai and a thousand other figures," said President Jokowi.

President Jokowi hoped Toshihiro Nikai and Japanese Parliamentary League he leads, could continue to enhance its role in building cooperation between Indonesia and Japan.
