President Jokowi to launch human right care program

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Social Affairs, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) would launch a program of human right care that would be carried out by local government. The launch would be held at 11th December 2015.

"Ministry of Social Affairs is eagerly awaited for this program, because bill of persons with disabilities have been discussed and soon become law," she said, Wednesday (25/11).

Khofifah explained, local government would provide 26 kinds of services to suit the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD). The services were, for example, availability of facilities in buses, in areas with sloping stairs, and in government offices/agencies which have no guiding block.

"Availability of facilities suggested equality in education, politics and employment services," she added.

In particular, the Ministry also asked relevant ministries/agencies to accelerating the issue of birth certificate to fulfill children right. Despite, she knew that the process was no as simple as that,  because the birth certificate also required marriage certificate.
