REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia prepared a team to join Asean Skills Competition (ASC) XI 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this event, Indonesia targeted to achieve overall championship.
ASC is a competition of skill performance in various vocational fields by young workers (maximum of 22 years old). The competition would be attended by participants from member countries of ASEAN, such as Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia.
Previously, at ASC X in Hanoi Vietnam, October 2014, Indonesia won third rank after Vietnam and Malaysia. While, at ASC IX in Jakarta Indonesia in 2012, Indonesia won the overall championship.
"We target the overall winner and we are optimistic to regain it," said Director General of Training and Productivity, Ministry of Labor, Khairul Anwar, in opening ceremony of National Selection of ASC XI 2015 in Bekasi, West Java, Wednesday (25/11).
Khairul said, the participants would go through various stages of selection and exams. Therefore, participants who qualify to represent Indonesia in ASC, is the best participant.
