REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NUSA DUA -- Vice President Jusuf Kala opened Indonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) 2015 in Nusa Dua, Bali. He stressed the importance of palm oil industry in Indonesia and Malaysia, which supplied 80 to 90 percent crude palm oil (CPO) in the world.

"The world is concerned with palm oil supply from Indonesia and Malaysia. For Indonesia, oil palm and rubber are development goods, so that the world should not discriminate these two things," said Kalla in Nusa Dua, Thursday (26/11).

Kalla watched over environmental issues in international community that highlighted palm oil industry in Indonesia. However, as long as the world is still in need of food and oil, then the palm oil will become a staple in the world.

"Palm oil will continue to grow in line with increasing human population in the world," Kalla added.
