REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice Chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), KH Slamet Effendy Yusuf reportedly passed away on Wednesday (2/12) night, in Bandung, West Java. Slamet passed away at the age of 67 years old.
Based on information from Vice Chairman of Institute of Counseling and Legal Aid of NU, Rofiqul Umam Ahmad, Slamet breathed his last in Bandung while attended MPR agency assessment.

"Assalamualaikum, Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rojiun. Mr. KH Slamet Effendy Yusuf has passed away in Bandung a few minutes ago. He was participating in agency assessment for the Assembly. Thanks and regards. Wassalam," wrote Rofiqul, in a short message received by Republika.co.id, Thursday (3/12).
It was not yet known the cause of the death of men who born in Purwokerto 12th January 1948. Slamet has served as Chairman of MPR 1988-1993 and member of House of Representatives 1992-2009 from Golkar Party. He also briefly served as Chairman of NU 2010-2015 and Chairman of MUI 2009-2014.
