REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Aircraft T-50i Golden Eagle belongs to Air Force (TNI AU) that crashed in Gebyar Dirgantara 2015 in Adisucipto Air Field Yogyakarta, Sunday (20/12), was new because it was just purchased in 2013.
"This aircraft was made in South Korea who came to Indonesia in 2013," said Head of Information Department of TNI AU, Commodore Dwi Badarmanto, in a press conference, in Jakarta, Sunday (20/12).
He explained that fighter aircraft was from Korean Aero Industries (KAI) South Korea which strengthened Air Squadron 15 Iswahjudi Air Force Base in Madiun. At that time, Ministry of Defense bought one of squadron of KAI for TNI AU.
"We do not yet know the exact cause of the accident. But we have formed a team of investigators for further investigation. KAI will be joined the investigation," he added.
He hoped that in the near future, the cause of the accident that killed two pilots of the TNI AU. Related to ban of other aircraft T-50i Golden Eagle, Dwi said, there has been no follow-up policy.
