REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- Four men were sentenced to death by a district court in Banda Aceh on charge of being in possession of 78 kilograms of methamphetamine .

The four Abdullah, Hamdani, Samsul Bahri, and Hasan Basri, charged with trying to smuggle the drug into Indonesia were nabbed by the National Anti Drug Agency (BNN) in February this year.

The sentence was as demanded by the public prosecutor in earlier session.

The public prosecutor said law officers, receiving a tip, picked up the drug from a ship in the Malacca strait on the way to Indonesia.
