Jokowi inaugurates time capsule monument in Merauke

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MERAUKE -- President Joko Widodo inaugurated time capsule monument in Merauke, Papua, Wednesday (30/12). In the monument, a time capsule was placed, containing hopes and dreams of the entire nation, from the zero kilometer point in Sabang, Aceh, to eastern of Indonesia in Merauke.

"The dreams of every people in every province are united, in one country, one nation and one language," the President said while giving a speech, as stated by Presidential Communications Team, Ari Dwipayana.

President Jokowi said, Papua was the right place to start the effort to realize the dreams of the nation, which was stated in the time capsule. Indonesian people have duties to make all dreams in the time capsule, come true.

Time Capsule of Indonesian Dream is a capsule-shaped container to store paper documents of Indonesian people's dream from all provinces in Indonesia. The time capsule has been orbited in 34 provinces since 22 September 2015 to collect dreams of Indonesian children. Furthermore, the time capsule would be placed permanently at Time Capsule Monument and would be opened in 2085.

The time capsule was made as part of National Movement of Ayo Kerja to commemorate 70 years of Indonesia Independence, which became a symbol of dreams, hopes and motivations of Indonesia for 70 years to come.
