REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MERAUKE -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has invited the nation's children to realize their dreams and aspirations with complete confidence.
"Now is the time for us to realize our dreams and hopes together and not wait for them to materialize on their own. The dreams must be realized with full confidence," President Jokowi remarked in Merauke, Papua, on Wednesday.
The head of state noted that Indonesia is the nation for realizing the dreams.
"We, especially the younger generation in every province, need to harbor dreams of where we want to lead this nation to in the future," Jokowi stated in the company of Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimoeljono, TNI Chief General Gatot Nurmantyo, Papua Governor Lukas Enembe, and elected Mayor of Merauke Frederikus Gebze.
The president mentioned that the 70-Year Indonesian Independence Movement, which was proclaimed in Sambang and ended in Merauke, has instilled several hopes and dreams for the next seven decades.
"Our dreams can only be realized through hard work, integrity, work ethics, and honesty, so that we can compete with other nations. The competition is a challenge, but I believe we can fulfill our dreams," he added.
