REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan expects the construction of the Asian-African village as mandated by the Asian-African Conference 2015 recommendation to be realized soon, in line with the Walini development.

"There is a recommendation to build an Africa Asia Village, which was recommended in the AAC 2015, the governor said on Thursday.

According to Ahmad, the basic concept of the village was actually formulated 11 years ago.

"The village site can be a tourist attraction. It is planned that the village will be built in Walini," he said.

The Governor remarked that the village could appeal to the international community to visit Indonesia.

Managing Director of Kereta Api Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), Hanggoro Budi added that there is a huge possibility of developing the village in the Walini plantation area.

"The Asian-African Village could be built together with the concept of the development of new town of Walini," Hanggoro said.

According to him, Walini will later become a new economic area, in line with the development of the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train.
