Yohanna Susana Nambise: Don't dissociate victims of radical movement

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A few weeks ago, a number of reports in the media that published about the reports of missing person surprised many people.

At the same time, the news becomes nation headline. Women and children were their target.

"Responding to the news that appeared the mass media and the cases that occurred about emergence of radical movement (particularly its relevance to the issue of women and children), I see from the influence that disseminated to the public, where many women and children into one of the targets. So, they become a victim of this movement," Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Yohana Susana Yembise said on Friday, (22/1).

Yohana added, women should raise awareness against an offer or lure to join some particular organizations that were cryptic. She also warned all the parents should be active to their children, either by way of communicating or monitoring.

"In order to avoid the influence of the distribution of ideologies contrary to the ideology of Pancasila, all the parents should warn their children," Yohana added.

Furthermore, all elements of society must be active and alert when find the indications about the new ideologies. For women and children who became the victims, Yohana said we must protect them.

"Don't dissociate women and children who became the victims. And, last but not least, strengthen the resilience of the family as a bulwark to prevent all forms of negative influences spread by parties who are not responsible,"  Yohana explained.
