REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama Propagation Institute, Zakky Mubarok said the deviant sexual behavior of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community wasn't part of the human right, but violated religious norms and morals.

"Those who become LGBT do not have a strong religious foundation. It makes them easier to become like that," Zakky told Republika, Thursay (28/1).

However, he said LGBT must understand what is human right and its limits. They were encouraged to strengthen and practice the basics of their religion. In addition, they should be directed to have relationship with others, as their religion said.

Typically, Zakky saw it was a changeable sexual orientation thought takes a long time to normalize LGBT. They need to go to psychologist or psychiatrist for consultation. Neverthless, he believed if it was done regularly, their sexual orientation will be back to normal.

(QS. Yusuf ayat 21)
