REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Lawyer of Jessica Kumala Wongso, Yudi Wibowo said there were peculiarities in the process of arresting his client by Jakarta Police investigators. He claimed Jessica forced to confess herself as a perpetrator that poured cyanide in Wayan Mirna Salihin's coffee.
"Jessica was forced into the room of General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and confess that she has performed a crime that she never did," Yudi told Republika on Sunday (31/1).
When she was forced to confess, police didn't describe what the evidences have been obtained. Yudi said Jessica got intimidation.
"Whereas, it was the judge's duty, not the police," Yudi added.
As reported before, the police visited Jessica at Neo Mangga Dua Square Hotel at 7.45 pm. She formally arrested on Saturday (30/1) evening after investigation for almost 12 hours.
Mirna died after drinking coffee at Olivia Restaurant, Central Jakarta on January 6. Jessica arrived early and ordered a sazerac cocktail and Vietnamese coffee. Minutes after, Mirna and Hani arrived at the cafe. She later proceeds to drink coffee.
Shortly afterwards, she suffered from convulsions and began to foam at the mouth. She was rushed to the hospital, but died on arrival.
