REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TERNATE -- The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) personnel in North Maluku Province have arrested a suspected marijuana trafficker believed to be part of the Papua New Guinea (PNG) drug ring, the agency's official stated.
The suspect, identified as LA, was captured aboard KM Labobar vessel that had anchored at the Ahmad Yani Seaport of Ternate on February 28, Head of the BNN-Ternate Office Commissioner Sadik Ibrahim noted here Tuesday.
The suspect's friend, identified as IF, escaped from custody, but the agency's personnel arrested three other people in Dufa-Dufa Village while they were smoking marijuana and drinking liquor, he remarked.
The law enforcers seized 21 packages of marijuana from the suspects, identified as SH, WN, and ED, he added.
