REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo received visiting Director General World Trade Organization (WTO) Roberto Azevedo in Merdeka Palace on Wednesday. In the closed meeting, President and Roberto discussed e-commerce potential in Indonesia.
"We talked about interested topic, e-commerce," Roberto said.
According to Roberto e-commerce in Indonesia very prospective.
Meanwhile, Minister of Trade Thomas Lembong said WTO apreciated economic reformation effort by Indonesia government. According to Thomas the organization said the reformation make Indonesia able to sustain in the middle of crisis that happening in the world.
"[We] can say that many countries in around the world now sees Indonesia and even imitate economic reformation that we implemented," Thomas said.
Thomas also said WTO sees Indonesia position as very strategic from economic side. Indonesia positioned in the middle of big and small countries, so, it can become a bridge to all member countries.
