REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) commemorated Kartini Day on April 21 by campaigning for the Women Anti-Corruption Movement in a bid to free the nation of the extraordinary crime.
KPK spokesperson Yuyuk Andriati Iskak noted in a press statement on Thursday that the KPK will observe Kartini Day by holding a series of anti-corruption activities, starting from Thursday until the end of the week across different locations in Jakarta.
Yuyuk said the activities will involve imparting anti-corruption education across Jakarta and the launch of "I Am Anti-Corruption Woman" (SPAK) National Movement as a form of mental revolution.
In addition, the KPK will hold a seminar themed "Start to be Honest from Now."
She remarked that the SPAK National Movement has had more than 550 agents of change comprising women from varied backgrounds, such as housewives, civil servants, lecturers and teachers, religious figures, businesswomen, female students, public figures, and activists.
Spread across 20 provinces, the women are actively and voluntarily propagating anti-corruption education among various public elements.
Kartini Day is being commemorated in 20 provinces simultaneously to revive the spirit of Kartini in bringing about a change, particularly in the efforts to eradicate corruption.
