REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the presidium of the Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Neta S. Pane asked President Joko Widodo not to keep police chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti in office after the four star police general reaches his retirement age next month.
"President Jokowi should not hear advises from men around him that wants to keep Badrodin longer in office," Neta S. Pane, said here on Wednesday.
He said extension of the office term of Badrodin could trigger controversies and political and legal polemics.
There have been discourses about the possibility of the president keeping Badrodin longer in service.
The public relation department of the police headquarter refused to comment about the fate of Badrodin.
"We have not received information about such extension," police chief spokesman Brig.Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said.
