REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ‪PALEMBANG -- Chairman for Commission V of regional parliament South Sumatra Fahlevi Maizano said, regional regulation (perda) about cultural heritage is needed, especially for preservation.‬

‪"Cultural Heritage is relates with property right to somebody,” he said in Palembang, Wednesday (11/5).

He give example, if house used as cultural heritage is must not be changed by its owner. But no budget allocation to maintenance that house from government.

"House as residence surely has economical values. It mean, the owner have property right," he said He added if that is cultural heritage, so the government have responsibility to keep it. That's why he think that the owner of that cultural heritage should not pay maintenance cost. So, regional regulation is need to be created.

He added in nationally, the government was already to manage cultural heritage.

“But regional regulation makes better condition,” he said.

He explained, the cultural heritage should be determined by governor decree. If the governor have already made it, it mean the government have to fund the cost of its maintenance.

"So, at the future at least there must be regional regulation that managed cultural heritage specifically," he said.
