REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Deputy for Cooperation Protection of Women and Children Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK), Sujatmiko, said the application of severe penalties for sexual perpetrators is a warning to Indonesians. The society requested no longer to underestimate the dangers of sexual crimes.
"We expect two important things after the enforcement of regulation emasculated. First, sanction of castration (perppu) intended for deterrent effect on perpetrators. Second, to remind people not to underestimate sexual crimes whose status has become an extraordinary crime," he said when confirmed Republika. co.id, Sunday (15/5).
This is because, he said, sexual abuse to children and women are not only carried out by an unknown person. He reminded cases of sexual crimes often committed by those of closest people, such as teachers and even law enforcement officers.
"Sexual abuse is damaging the nation. After Perppu signed by the President Joko Widodo, the rule weighting penalty sanctions such as injecting castration and other sanctions imposed immediately," said Sujatmiko.
Previously, Sujatmiko ensure discussion of the draft regulation of emasculated sanctions have been finished. He said the draft now in the process of submission to the President.
