REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- State Intelligence Agency (BIN) made sure the family of Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo was not involved in the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI).

"There is no record that parents of President Joko Widodo is PKI leaders or cadres in either in Giriroto, Boyolali,and in other areas," according to a written statement from the BIN, Thursday (19/5).

It can be ensured after BIN searches on institutions which in the past had record about PKI members and their families. As a result, BIN makes sure allegation on President Joko Widodo and his family involved PKI is slander. BIN assess number of articles on social media reported hoax news by propagating issues on president’s family involved PKI.

Related to distribution of PKI attributes marked with messages in social media networks on the issue of distribution of 102 thousands t-shirts emblazoned hammer and sickle, BIN asks citizens to be cautious of those who tried to revive the ideology of Communism/Marxism-Leninism.

‘’The propaganda actions should be wary as a threat on ideology of Pancasila and national stability,’’ according to the written statement.
