REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo has instructed several echelon II officers and CEOs in ministries and institutions to perform in line with the vision of Nawacita, a set of nine programs formulated during his government's term.

"What can be executed above needs to be followed up from the bottom. Everything should be completed together," President Widodo stated at the Dhanapala Building, Ministry of Finance, in Jakarta, Tuesday. The statement was made in connection with the directives the president had issued during a government working meeting.

The president believes his directives need to be followed, so the policies formulated by the government can be implemented.

The head of state also urged all government officials to adhere to the policies and to implement the planned programs accordingly.

"I conveyed that the handling of issues related to expenditure, economy, and organizational concerns need to be streamlined, so everyone has the same vision," he affirmed.

In his opening speech at the meeting, the president also highlighted the importance of boosting the performance of officials in ministries and institutions.

The world is changing at a rapid pace, and it needs buoyant and spry performance from civil workers, President Widodo emphasized.

The president also affirmed that ministries and institutions should ensure efficient utilization of the budget by focusing on several development programs, so the people of Indonesia can reap the benefits.

"The third orientation will focus on the results. For quite a while, we have focused on the procedures," he pointed out.

The president expressed belief that if the officials were able to perform according to the plan, then development in Indonesia can soon be realized.
