Harapan Bunda Hospital admits using fake vaccines

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Management of Harapan Bunda Hospital in Ciracas, East Jakarta, has admitted the presence of fake vaccines in their hospital. Harapan Bunda Hospital apologized to the patients who feel aggrieved about the fake vaccines case.

"About to the circulation of fake vaccines, Harapan Bunda Hospital feel concerned. We apologize about it," Director of the Harapan Bunda Hospital, Doctor Fina said, on Thursday (14 / 7) night.

Fina acknowledged information about employees of her hospital involved in the circulation of fake vaccines. According to Fina, the case being investigated by authorities.

"Yes, it is true about Ministry of Health state that there is a employee in Harapan Bunda Hospital who distribute fake vaccine," Fina said.

Fina explained, the type of fake vaccines in Harapan Bunda Hospital is pediacel. The vaccine is combination vaccine to stimulate the immune system and produce antibodies against organisms which can cause of diseases diphtheria, tetanus, cough (pertussis), polio, and Hib infection. Fake vaccines, Fina said, had distributed in Harapan Bunda Hospital from March to June, 2016.

Previously, The Ministry of Health has released 14 names of health care facilities as fake vaccines recipients. Among the list, mentioned name of Harapan Bunda Hospital in Ciracas, East Jakarta.
