Treasurer of the National Movement Supporters Fatwa Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI GNPF) Muhammad Luthfie Hakim said donations request was only sent through instant messaging application and social media. "The donors were not only from Indonesia, but also some from Qatar, Kuwait, and England," Luthfie said to Republika.co.id, Thursday (11/3).
The amount of money donated also varied, ranging from Rp 50 thousand to Rp 120 million. The ages of the donors also varies, from young age until elderly. Since fundraising information has been spread, a lot of people contacted Luthfie to confirm whether the information was valid. "This proves that people responded positively to rally," Luthfie who is also a well-known lawyer said.
The donation has been used for various purposes, such as for consumption, medicines, hygiene unit, and public services such as hygiene kits, toilet procurement, communication tools, and banners.
Luthfie expected four things related the rally that will be held in front of the Presidential Palace tomorrow. "First we hope President Joko Widodo will be there. The President will not escape that makes the situation so it is not conducive,"
Luthfie said.
Second, he hoped all parties involved in the rally adhere to the commandor of the field who provide directives or restrictions during the action. Third, Luthfie hoped no provocateur. Fourth, there will be no significant damage on the action.
