REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SURABAYA -- East Java Governor Soekarwo promoted the ports in the province for the Gyeongnam-do Provincial administration, South Korea, by holding a meeting with Vice Governor Ryu Soon Hyun here on Thursday. "The infrastructures in East Java is complete and adequate, especially the ports," Soekarwo added.
He cited the Tanjung Perak port, which consists of many ports in its vicinity, the Brondong port, the Probolinggo port, the Banyuwangi port and the Lamongan Integrated Port Shorebase. According to him, East Java province is a good location for other countries, including Gyeongnam-do, to make investments.
Meanwhile, Vice Governor Ryu Soon Hyun said relations between the two provinces have been running smoothly and are expected to be more robust and comprehensive in the future. "We would like to strengthen cooperation with East Java, especially in economy and trade," Ryu Soon Hyun said.
The meeting, he added, will also celebrate 20 years of cooperation between the two provinces. So far, East Java and Gyeongnam-do have been establishing cooperation in the fields of business, sports and rural technology development.
