REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Representatives of the National Movement to Guard the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI) visited MUI's office on Tuesday morning.
Chairman of GNPF MUI Bachtiar Nasir and Advisor of GNPF MUI Habib Rizieq come to give clarification about the discourse of December 2 rally. "We invited them officialy to have a clear information about the rally," MUI General Secretary Anwar Abbas said on Tuesday.
Answering MUI's question, GNPF leaders said they confirmed to have Aksi Bela Islam III (3rd action to defend Islam) on December 2. According to Anwar, GNPF promised the forthcoming action will not lead to acts of treasons as alleged by some parties. "Habib Rizieq said the mass will not march to State Palace nor House of Representatives (DPR) building," Anwar said.
Anwar added, GNPF understand the two building are state symbols. They could be labelled with treasons if trying to hold the State Palace and House of Representatives building. "We did have intention to a coup," he mimicked Rizieq answer.
During the December 2 action, GNPF will ask the mass to sit and dhikr at Thamrin to Sudirman street from 06.00 am until 18.00 pm. The participants will be asked to sit, not stand. "So if there are parties who call December 2 action will end up with coup de etat, it surely did not come from GNPF since they will only be at Thamrin-Sudirman street instead of State Palace or DPR
