REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Jakarta police questioned economic observer Ichsanuddin Noorsy in connection with the alleged treason case of Rachmawati Soekarnoputri. "He has come for questioning in connection with various meetings," Jakarta Metropolitan Police spokesman Senior Commissioner Argo Yuwono said here Monday.
The police wished to explore more thoroughly Ichsanuddin's role as a speaker in the meeting "especially with regard to the contents of his speeches and who were present there," he said.
Several witnesses have testified that Ichsanuddin were present at the meetings and therefore he would be questioned with regard to the meetings that had also involved Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, the daughter of first president Soekarno and sister of former president Megawati Soekarnoputri, Argo said.
The police have named several people suspects in an alleged treason plot and insulting the leader and also violating the law on electronic transactions information.
The suspects include retired army general Kivlan, retired army general Adityawarman Thaha, activists Ratna Sarumpaet, Mirza Husein, Eko, Alvin, Rachmawati, university professor Sri Bintan Pamungkas, Zamran, Rizal and musician Ahmad Dhani.
