REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Investigators in the Crime Unit of Jakarta Metro Police would ask for information from the spokesman of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Munarman and the chairman of the National Movement to Safeguard the Indonesian Council of Ulama's Fatwa (GNPF MUI) Ustaz Bachtiar Nasir on Tuesday (January 24). Both were scheduled to be examined as witnesses of one of the suspects in the treason case, Sri Bintang Pamungkas.
The information on examination schedule of both people was verified by Head of the Public Relations of Jakarta Metro Police, Sr. Comr. Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono. However, he could not confirm whether they would come.
Supposedly, the police would also questioned Habib M Rizieq Shihab as a witness on Sri Bintang Pamungkas' case on the same day. However, the examination was postponed on February 1, 2017.
The information was also confirmed by Habib Rizieq when he gave speeches after the examination of the case of 'hammer and sickle' at the Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters on Monday (January 23). "Tomorrow, Haji Munarman will be examined by the Police. Ready to safeguard again?" asked him in front of the masses.
As information, Sri Bintang Pamungkas was suspected in violating Article 28 paragraph (2) regarding the spread of information which rise to hatred of Law Number 11 Year 2008 concerning about Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE), conjuction with Article 107 about treason, and Article 110 of the Criminal Code on bad agreement.

Sri Bintang was caught by the police in the dawn of December 2, 2016. Jakarta Metro Police nabbed him and Ahmad Dhani, Eko Suryo Santjojo, Adityawarman, Kivlan Zein, Firza Husein, Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, Ratna Sarumpaet, Jamran and Rizal. Alvin Indra also arrested in different place. Among them, Sri Bintang Pamungkas, Jamran and Rizal were detained. They were charged with Article 107 of Criminal Code and Laws of ITE.
On December 2, 2016, Muslims who supported GNPF MUI gathered in National Monument to have Friday prayer and urged the police to detain Basuki Tjahaja Purnama in the case of alleged religious blasphemy. The action also known as 212 Rally.
