ISIS starts to recruit intellectual people: Rikwanto

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of Public Information Bureau of the Indonesia National Police Rikwanto revealed that there indication if the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) started to recruit intellectual people as their member. The militant group now not only recruits people from ordinary community.

"So far there is indication that ISIS is recruiting member not only from ordinary community, such as people in village, but also intellectual circles," said Rikwanto in Jakarta, Friday (27/1). 

According to him, ISIS recruiters has entered campuses zone. They would find possibly people who want to join the terrors group. "Based on Antiterror Detachment team investigation, recruiters have entered many campuses, including through some events at those places," Rikwanto explained. 

Rikwanto said that situation was very worrying. Therefore, he hopes no more intellectual people are easily recruited to all the militant groups. "We expect no more intellectuals can be recruited. We think that they can have logic to refuse something wrong," Rikwanto added.
