REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Jakarta Elections Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) claimed did not know the mastermind behind the spread of the black campaign brochure that discredited the candidates number 3 in the Jakarta gubernatorial election, Anies Baswedan-Sandiaga Uno. The evidences were found at Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Monday (Feb 13). "Bawaslu has coordinated with the Jakarta Police to reveal violation of the election," Chairman of the Jakarta Bawaslu Mimah Susanti said.
Mimah said the suspects who distributed black campaign brochures were professional. Mimah added those people were paid to distribute the brochures. "But, they did not know what the purpose was," she remarked in a press conference in the Cawang, East Jakarta, Monday.
Mimah said Bawaslu would take firm action against anyone who publishes the black campaign before the election of Jakarta Governor. In fact, Mimah said, if found guilty, the offender may be subject to the Criminal Act of Election.
Meanwhile, West Jakarta Election Supervisory Committee Chairman Puadi confirmed the findings. According to Puadi, the discovery of black campaign came from the people and field team reports. "But these findings were found on Friday (Feb 10)," Puadi said to reporters in Jakarta, Sunday (Feb 12).
