REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has appreciated the implementation of the simultaneous local elections in the 101 areas could run safely and smoothly.

Jokowi said that statement in a press conference at the Presidential Palace. "We should be grateful voting in the simultaneous local elections in 101 regions already run safely and smoothly," Jokowi said at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (Feb 16).

Jokowi also expressed his gratitude to all ranks who helped to organized the elections and to the people for their participation in the elections. "I would like to thank the ranks of the General Elections Commission (KPU), Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), police, Indonesian military, and all of the security forces who have been working hard. Also thanks to all the people who participated in the elections," he said.

The President also appealed to the public and all parties always prioritize fraternity, togetherness and unity. So the government could better focus on running the development program for the welfare.
