REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- National Police with the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Kuala Lumpur have prepared legal assistance for the suspect in the alleged murder of Kim Jong-nam, an Indonesia citizen named Siti Aisyah. "With the Embassy, we prepared legal assistance to Siti," National police spokesman Inspector General Boy Rafli Amar said in Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Wednesday (Feb 22).

Until now, the Foreign Ministry has not received permission to meet Siti. Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi on Saturday (Feb 18) communicated with Malaysian foreign affairs minister to reaffirm the Indonesian Government's request in order to obtain consular access to Siti. She is currently still in temporary custody and the police have prolonged her detainment period.

On Friday (Feb 17), Siti with other suspect, Doan Thi Huong, have done reconstruction scene at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The suspect Siti Aisyah which hold Indonesian passports was arrested on Thursday (Feb 16) at 02.00 local time.

Siti was arrested related to alleged involvement in the murder of Kim Jong-nam, half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Kim Jong-nam (45 years) was allegedly killed by two women who splashed his face with chemicals in the departure terminal of Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, Monday (Feb 13), at 09:00 local time.
