REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG -- Central Java Police chief, Irjen Pol Condro Kirono, asked the local government to make temporary repair to roads damaged. "Should be repaired, don't make casualties," Condro said after prepare Operasi Simpatik Candi 2017 troops in Semarang on Wednesday.

He acknowledged the process to be followed in the road repair mechanism. While waiting for the realization of the road improvement, he asked the stakeholders related to road management to put up signs instructions.

Police, he said, has been followed up by posting warning banners around the damaged roads. In some segments, hollow roads have been marked with white spray paint. Aside from being a marker for the repair of the roads, the spray paint can be used as a warning sign for road users, especially at night. The entire head unit of traffic, he added, have also been instructed to coordinate with Public Works Department about points of the damaged roads.

Central Jave Police noted the death toll from traffic accidents in the local area reached 12 people per day. "The death toll from traffic accidents during 2016 reached 4.424 people, thus per day reached 12 people," Condro said. The number still below the national average which reached 71 people die each day.

Operasi Simpatik Candi 2017 will be held from March 1 to 21 targets a decrease in the number of traffic violations. This sympathetic operation has been delivered widely to the public and conducted openly. "Not a silent operation, prioritizing simpathetic ways, with a conscience," he said.
