REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former president who is also the Chariman of the Democratic Party, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), finally met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). SBY talked with the President Jokowi at 12:52 pm at the Presidential Palace.
Jokowi wore a blue batik shirt, while SBY wore a brown batik shirt in meeting. Then they shook hands. This meeting occurred after SBY expressed his desire to meet with Jokowi, during a press conference at the Democratic Party office, Jakarta, on February 1.
At that time, SBY said he wanted to meet with Jokowi to clarify a number of accusations addressed to him and his party. The accusations were related to the fund of 411 rally, the initiation of the movement of treason and planned of bombing of the Presidential Palace.
President Jokowi also in this meeting reaffirmed, he attempted to arrange a meeting with SBY after the request. "Yes, as I said before, that I will arrange a time for him (SBY) and today, alhamdulilah (thank God) he also has time then we make an appointment and meet," Jokowi said at the Palace, Jakarta, Thursday (March 9).
Jokowi said that the meeting with SBY has been planned by adjusting the time schedules of Jokowi and SBY. And this was right time for them to meet.
They discussed various topics in this meeting related to the national political, economic, etc. "We talked a lot of good things related with national politics, national economic and many more," Jokowi said.
Known, previously Democratic Party chairman SBY expressed his desire to meet with Jokowi to clarify various issues intnded to him. "Unfortunately I have not had a chance to meet Mr. President, Mr.
Jokowi. If I wanted to meet, I wanted to talk bluntly. Anyone who report to him, who gave intelligence information to he who said I was the actor behind the 411 rally, bombings, up to the affairs of treason," SBY said.
However, SBY admitted could not to meet up with the president. He said there were parties in the Presidential that forbid the President to meet him. "It seems, he (Jokowi) wanted to see me, but it was banned by two or three people around him to meet me. What a great people! They could prohibit the president met his friend," SBY said.
