REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Police discriminative acts were argued by Muhammad al-Khaththath's lawyer, Ahmad Michdan, as obvious. He said Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), as the defendant of blasphemy case, was treated differently from the other defendants of the same cases.
"The other (defendants) were detained after being a defendant. They were detained even when still being a suspect," he said on Friday (April 7).
Michdan who is part of Muslims legal team (TPM) argued that the way polices treat their clients were discriminative. The authority assumed other parties planned a treason because they rejected Ahok.

"Public might reflect that they cannot prove the alegation to activist Sri Bintang Pamungkas. He was released, and then Sri Bintang Pamungkas brought the case to International Council," said him.
Ahmad said it showed the police bad performance to society. He hoped that the police would stop its discriminative acts to preachers and Muslims. "Law should be enforced, but it should not be discriminative."
