REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) have planned to build docks for freshwater fish landing in many major rivers flowing in several regions, which have a lot of potential for fisheries production.

"KKP will soon build docks for freshwater fish landing," Director General of Fishing of KKP Sjarief Widjaja said in a press conference here on Wednesday.

According to Widjaja, the ministry planned to build and manage docks in 10 major rivers, namely Musi, Batang Hari, Kapuas, Serayu, Solo, Asahan, Mahakam, Kampar, Barito, and Citanduy.

He stated that the dock development would also lead to the building of conservation areas and no-fishing areas in the particular region.
