Iyus Rusmana is free from Istiqlal terror allegation

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- Jakarta Metro Police had arrested a man named Iyus Rusmana on May 29. He was alleged to conduct a terror in Istiqlal Mosque. Lately, the forty-three-year-old-man was released as he was not proven guilty. 

Head of Violent Crime sub-Unit in Jakarta Metro Police Hendy Febrianto Kurniawan said police had finished an investigation to Iyus. He was a citizen of Babakan Loa, Pangatikan, Garut, West Java. Iyus was not proven to send terror message to the official of the mosque. 

"He (Iyus) has clarified that his cell phone is not in his control when the message is sent,” said Hendy to Republika.co.id on Sunday (June 4).

Hendy said Iyus had proven that his cell phone was in reparation during the incident on Saturday (May 27).  He had also showed the location. 

Police did rehabilitation to Iyus name. He guaranteed that Iyus cell phone was not under anybody’s control. “We take him to his work place and family, that he was not the message sender,” said Hendy. 

Recently, the Crime Unit of Jakarta Metro Police arrested a man named Mudji Dachri. The sixty-nine-year-old-man was arrested on Wednesday (May 31). He was in a police investigation.
