REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PUTUSSIBAU – Kapuas Hulu Regional Police Chief Imam Riyadi said to set CCTV in some prone to crime areas in Indonesia-Malaysia borders around Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan.
"We plan to set CCTV in some prone to crime areas and we had mapped the areas,” said Imam in Putussibau, Kapuas Hulu, on Wednesday (June 7).
Imam said border areas were vulnerable to smuggling cases. It was also vulnerable for the coming of terrorist and human trafficking.
According to Imam, almost there was no border between the areas but the palm oil trees. “It becomes an open space and had secret road,” said Imam.
He said the secret road must be closed, as the official cross border post had been inaugurated.
To anticipate the smuggling, terrorism, human trafficking and other potential crimes, police planned to set the CCTV. He also called the society to cooperate in following up the cases of secret roads.
