REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA— Eid al-Fitr holiday was previously expected to be a paused period for doing many lobbies related to debate of the bill of Law on General Election. But, Deputy Chairman of the Special Team Yandri Susanto said there was no different statement from the fractions, especially on presidential threshold.
“There is no progress. It seems that the fraction keep their position,” said Yandri to Republika.co.id on Wednesday (June 28).
According to Yandri, National Mandatory Party (PAN) insisted to propose no (0 percent) presidential thresholds. However, it accepted any lobbies from other parties which expected different option.
PAN would raise the number, but not reached 20 percents of presidential threshold and 25 percent of total quotas as expected by the government and three other parties.
“If there is lobby, it might be increased up to 10 percents of total quotas or 15 percents of votes,” said the member of Commission II of the House of Representatives.
The bill of Law on General Election was not be assigned as there were some debates among the fraction and the government. The government and three fractions expected the presidential threshold would be 20-25 percents, while the others expected 0 percents.
Recently, the special team of Law on General Election and the government agreed that the decision would be made on July 10. The holiday of Eid al-Fitr were hoped to be used to hold lobbies.
