REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- Belarus has expressed interest in investing in South Sumatra Province in view of the huge potential of its energy resources, South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin stated.
South Sumatra has abundant oil and gas resources that should be managed optimally, he said here on Saturday.
The Belarus ambassador expressed his country's keenness to invest in South Sumatra when he visited the province recently, he said.
The ambassador visited South Sumatra to get a first-hand glimpse of the province's natural resource potentials, he noted.
South Sumatra not only has oil and gas deposits but also abundant coal reserves, he pointed out.
Hopefully, the visit would help Belarus increase investment in the province, he said.
The governor also offered Belarus to increase its trade ties with South Sumatra.
