Mitra Keluarga Hospital Kalideres gets warning letter

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of Jakartas Health Department, Koesmedi Priharto has signed the warning letter to the Mitra Keluarga Hospital at Kalideres, West Jakarta. 

The sanctions as directed by the Ministry of Health following the death of baby Tiara Debora.

"I just signed (the warning letter)," Koesmedi said on Wednesday (September 13).

Koesmedi said, in the warning letter there are several points of agreement. Among otherSs, Mitra Keluarga Hospital promised not to withdraw the down payment to patient in emergency conditions. 

The hospital also has to promise to perform their obligation to help patients in emergency situations in accordance to the existing rules.

"Then if there is a similar case at that hospital happen again, the hospital agrees their license to be revoked," Koesmedi said.

Furthermore, Koesmedi said, Jakarta Health Office will conduct medical audit. Medical audit as an assessment that will be conducted by Jakarta Health Department to know what the hospital did on out patient baby Debora, whether appropriate medical procedures or not.

"Whether there is problem with the detention, the detention of patients who cant get treated at the PICU room," Koesmedi said.

Koesmedi added, medical audits will be conducted by professionals.

Currently he is still looking for a team to do it. The audit team then will collect data from the hospital before making a conclusion as to whether mistake or not in the context of medical procedures.

Koesmedi said the signed sanctions could be changed if they find medical fatal error. However, Koesmedi reluctant thought about it.

"Sanctions as therapy and can change if the medical audit is different," he said.

Indonesias Health Ministry finally officially decided that the internal policy of Mitra Keluarga Hospital, West Jakarta, has not gone well. Through the decree, the Ministry of Health asked the Jakartas Health Office to give written sanction to the Mitra Keluarga Hospital.
