REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensured that there will be no special treatment to the suspect on e-ID card graft case, Setya Novanto.
"In principal, all detainees may convey their medical needs and it will be considered further by the KPK investigators and doctors," KPK spokesperson Febri Diansyah said at his office, Jakarta on Monday.
Febri reiterated, KPK will not give special treatment to certain detainees because of their position. "When someone is detained then his/her status is a suspect," he said.
According to Febri, KPK trusted the judgement of Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) to Novanto's condition.
Previously, on Sunday (November 19), RSCM director Soejono said based on the results of examination the health condition of Novanto had improved and no longer needed to stay in the hospital.
KPK then took Novanto into its detention house.
Novanto who is the Golkar party chairman had a car accident on Thursday (November 16) night.
According to his lawyer, Fredrich Yunadi, Novanto immediately fainted and got a bump in his left forehead. Meanwhile, his aide and the driver were safe.
The House of Representatives speaker was rushed to Medika Permata Hijau hospital and on Friday afternoon he was treated in Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital (RSCM).
