REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Military observer from Padjajaran University, Muradi considered, President Joko Widodo decision to propose Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto's name as the next TNI commander was aimed to maintain regeneration in the military.
Muradi said, the submission of one candidate will restore leadership rotation in TNI.
"TNI commander Gen. Gatot Nurmanto will be retired on April 1, 2018. Therefore, the president has to prepared succession," Muradi said on Monday (December 4).
Muradi said, Hadi will have sufficient time to consolidate. He believed, Hadi will be able to continue the regeneration process that streched too far while Gatot in command.
"Submission of Marshal Hadi's name also restores the leadership rotation in the TNI which as part of building solidarity among generation," Muradi added.
House Deputy Speaker Fadli Zon also said already received the letter from the president on the replacement of Gatot and the appointment of Hadi through Minister of State Secretary Prof. Pratikno.
